Speaking with faculty about research data management

This morning we’re having the first of four meetings with faculty to discuss their research data management needs. These meetings are the start of our outreach efforts as we move forward with our planning work to implement a research data repository. Although we have a good sense of what other folks have tried at their universities, we feel that it is important to touch base with McGill researchers early in the process to make sure that we understand their needs and their priorities.

We haven’t mapped out the rest of the planning process in great deal, in part because a lot depends on what we learn from these meetings. Rest assured that there will be more opportunities for faculty, other researchers, and librarians to be engaged in the implementation process!
