Fenceviewer I. a cow of parts,
\nAggressive, competent and bold,
\nAt every milking gives twelve quarts
\nAnd doesn’t give a\u2014hoot!\u2014(don’t scold!)
\nMy Kerry cow, as good as gold;
\nFenceviewer II.\u2014(boss, they say)
\nLa Veau, turned three; Beans, two-year-old\u2014
\nThese are the cows I milk each day!<\/p>\n

When Phoebus shoots his morning darts,
\nOr wet or dry, or hot or cold,
\nOne to the dewy pasture starts
\nWith clanging pails and pants up-rolled.
\nAgain when evening doth enfold
\nThe earth and sky in twilight grey,
\nHim at that chore you may behold\u2014
\nThese are the cows I milk each day!<\/p>\n

Although unskilled in dairy arts
\nI’ve soaked some lore by experts doled,
\nWith gentle words that win their hearts
\nMy cows from kicking I’ve cajoled;
\nAnd of all cattle, horned or polled,
\nPure-bred or grade, own them who may,
\nMine suit me best. They’ll not be sold\u2014
\nThese are the cows I milk each day!<\/p>\n

\nAt milking time should chance to stray,
\nI’ll let you drink all you can hold\u2014
