It has been quite some time since I posted anything to this blog, but given that we’re about half-way through our summer and my planning for the fall semester is in full swing, I thought it would be a perfect time to share an update on what I have planned.<\/p>\n
As far as preparations go, most of my energy to date has been focused on reviewing and updating my subject guides<\/a>. I was lucky to inherit a set of guides that were already in very good shape, so most of what I’ve been doing to reviewing the contents and updating the organization and presentation to bring it in line with the approach I plan on taking in the fall.<\/p>\n I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how to best use the various social media tools and networks to connect with students and faculty and to share information about the Library. Given my desire to realize adopt a minimalist approach to my work<\/a>, it should come as no surprise that I’ve decided to keep the channels I use to a minimum.<\/p>\n I’ve decided that I’ll be using a Facebook page<\/a> as my main presence on social media, at least in my role as the liaison librarian for management. I’ll be using this blog<\/a> to host longer pieces on library resources, librarianship, and academia. I’m hoping to record a few tutorials or screencasts as well, and those will be hosted on my YouTube channel<\/a> and shared in various places.
