{"id":1,"date":"2013-06-11T13:37:38","date_gmt":"2013-06-11T17:37:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.library.mcgill.ca\/hsslibrary\/?p=1"},"modified":"2013-06-11T16:03:37","modified_gmt":"2013-06-11T20:03:37","slug":"hello-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.library.mcgill.ca\/hsslibrary\/hello-world\/","title":{"rendered":"Better late than never"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>You might think that that the Humanities and Social Sciences Library of McGill missed the blogging boat.<\/p>\n<p>I prefer the term, fashionably late.<\/p>\n<p>So why launch a blog now?<\/p>\n<p>Increasingly &#8211;you, our community of faculty and students\u2014use the library\u2019s online collections and services, making it ever more challenging to have the conversations that in years past informed our decision making and evolution.<\/p>\n<p>And yet, we have an even greater need than ever for these interactions, to ensure that we continue to evolve in ways that support for your teaching, learning, and research as we undergo rapid change from both new technologies and budgetary realities.<\/p>\n<p>HSSL\u2019s new blog might be late to the party; however, I hope you will embrace it as a way to interact with your library and strengthen your relationship with the people that work there.<\/p>\n<p>I started a new position on May 1<sup>st<\/sup>, Head Librarian of the Humanities and Social Sciences Library.\u00a0 Please reach out to me \u2013 either in person, online, or as a comment on this blog- to get the conversation started.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You might think that that the Humanities and Social Sciences Library of McGill missed the blogging boat.
