This year\u2019s theme is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.internationalwomensday.com\/2025Theme\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">#AccelerateAction,<\/a> to&nbsp;emphasize the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality, both in personal and professional spheres (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.internationalwomensday.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IWD website<\/a>).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To accompany IWD, the Redpath Book Display for March includes books by and about female entrepreneurs, who all work more than 9 to 5 to achieve their goals. Check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/mcgill.on.worldcat.org\/list\/22204850\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">list of books<\/a> to learn about the successes and challenges faced by businesswomen who run the world. If reading the printed page isn\u2019t for you, look for the audiobook versions in the list, so you can hear them roar.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Creativity is a theme amidst the selections \u2013 the authors work hard for their money, and many discuss&nbsp;creative ways to earn R.E.S.P.E.C.T. and overcome challenges, including stories from social media star <a href=\"https:\/\/mcgill.on.worldcat.org\/oclc\/1391330311\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Madeline Pendleton<\/a>, entrepreneurial consultant <a href=\"https:\/\/mcgill.on.worldcat.org\/oclc\/1202731036\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Charlene Walters,<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/mcgill.on.worldcat.org\/oclc\/1030444355\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Beth Comstock<\/a>, who held positions in historical companies like GE. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many titles promote the power and importance of equity and diversity, such as&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/mcgill.on.worldcat.org\/oclc\/1141350277\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cPromoting a culture of equity in the #MeToo era\u201d<\/a> where McElhaney et al., share experiences in the workplace, as well as recruiter Patricia Lenkov\u2019s research in <a href=\"https:\/\/mcgill.on.worldcat.org\/oclc\/1263873375\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cTime&#8217;s Up Why Boards Need to Get Diverse Now.\u201d<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Time after time, stories from women around the world and of those who came before us help us make sense of the world, so it is important to include selections that provide historical context (<a href=\"https:\/\/mcgill.on.worldcat.org\/oclc\/1350429186\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Making choices, making do: survival strategies of Black and White working-class women during the Great Depression),<\/a> as well as the stories of independent women in today\u2019s era (<a href=\"https:\/\/mcgill.on.worldcat.org\/oclc\/1260820152\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Girls who green the world : thirty-four rebel women out to save our planet<\/a>). &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From <a href=\"https:\/\/mcgill.on.worldcat.org\/oclc\/1273727540\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">steel toes and stilettos<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/mcgill.on.worldcat.org\/oclc\/1235902393\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Avon<\/a>, these books were made for walking you through the pitches, celebrations, and barriers as they <a href=\"https:\/\/mcgill.on.worldcat.org\/oclc\/1351473903\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rewrite the rules for success<\/a>.
