Initially supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) until 2012, the project is now jointly funded by the University of Arizona Libraries and ACKU.<\/p>\n<p class=\"h4\">The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.afghandata.org\/#browse-collection\">Afghanistan Digital Collections<\/a> website includes unique documents in English, Pashto and Dari about Afghan history and culture, and the development of Afghanistan between 1979 and 1989. Among the important titles, readers will find:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Established in 1927, <a href=\"http:\/\/content.library.arizona.edu\/cdm\/search\/collection\/p16127coll5\/\"><em>Anis<\/em><\/a> is a newspaper in Dari and Pashto still currently published with approximately 2,500 copies circulated daily<\/li>\n<li>Established in 1962, the <a href=\"http:\/\/content.library.arizona.edu\/cdm\/search\/collection\/p16127coll6\/\"><em>Kabul Times<\/em><\/a> was the first English language printed newspaper in Afghanistan. After 1978 and the Coup d&#8217;Etat, and its renaming <em>New Kabul Times<\/em>, the editorial line of the newspaper changed for Communist and anti-Western culture rhetoric<\/li>\n<li>Published by the Government from 1932 to 1990, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.afghandata.org:8080\/xmlui\/discover?filtertype_1=title&amp;filter_relational_operator_1=contains&amp;filter_1=Afghanistan+almanac+-+Afghanistan+Kalany&amp;filtertype_2=subject&amp;filter_relational_operator_2=equals&amp;filter_2=Afghanistan--History%3B+yearbook&amp;submit_apply_filter=&amp;query=Afghanistan+almanac+-+Afghanistan+Kalany&amp;scope=%2F&amp;rpp=10\"><em>Da Afghanistan Kalanay<\/em><\/a> -also known as <em>Salnamah-i Afghanistan-<\/em> is both an almanac and yearbook covering political and economic history and activities of the country.
