{"id":355,"date":"2012-03-01T20:48:10","date_gmt":"2012-03-01T20:48:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.library.mcgill.ca\/islamicstudieslibrary\/?p=355"},"modified":"2012-05-18T14:35:42","modified_gmt":"2012-05-18T18:35:42","slug":"call-for-papers-journal-of-islam-and-christian-muslim-relations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.library.mcgill.ca\/islamicstudieslibrary\/call-for-papers-journal-of-islam-and-christian-muslim-relations\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for papers: Journal of Islam and Christian-Muslim Relations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\"><strong>SPECIAL THEME: REFLECTIONS ON THE ARAB SPRING<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>For over twenty years <em>Islam and Christian-Muslim Relations<\/em><\/strong> has been one of the leading peer-reviewed academic journals providing a forum for the academic exploration and discussion of the religious tradition of Islam, and relations between Islam and other religions. The journal seeks to provide a very timely turn-around time on articles submitted.\u00a0 The editorial team is currently considering articles for publication in its special thematic issue titled \u201cReflections on the Arab Spring\u201d to appear in October 2012. The journal is edited by members of the Department of Theology and Religion of Birmingham University (Birmingham, United Kingdom) and the Centre for Islam and the Modern World of Monash University (Melbourne, Australia).<\/p>\n<p>The journal is soliciting submissions based on a call for articles offering reflections on the Arab spring, and particularly on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Islamic social movements and political reform:<\/li>\n<li>Muslim society pluralism and minority communities<\/li>\n<li>Islam and democracy<\/li>\n<li>Islamist politics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Articles<strong> <\/strong>should be sent to editor Professor Greg Barton (<a href=\"mailto:greg.barton@monash.edu\" target=\"_blank\">greg.barton@monash.edu<\/a>), associate editor Dr Irfan Ahmad (<a href=\"mailto:irfan.ahmad@monash.edu\" target=\"_blank\">irfan.ahmad@monash.edu<\/a>) <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">with copy to editorial assistant Virginie Andre<\/span> (<a href=\"mailto:virginie.andre@monash.edu\" target=\"_blank\">virginie.andre@monash.edu<\/a>), in the form of e-mail attachments in simple Word format. For purposes of anonymity through the refereeing stages, the title alone should appear at the beginning, and references elsewhere that might lead to easy identification of the author should be omitted. All articles should be prefaced by an <em>abstract of 150-200 words<\/em>. The author&#8217;s postal and e-mail addresses, together with brief biographical details of about 50 words, should appear on a separate page. All pages should be numbered.
