Aspects covered are from inheritance and property rights through to contracts and martial law. A section also deals with &#8220;Iuris Primordia&#8221;, detailing the structure and development of the Corpus Iuris Civilis.<\/p>\n<p>Another interesting work is the<em> Dictionnaire de cas de conscience : ou, De\u0301cisions des plus conside\u0301rables dificultez touchant la morale et la discipline ecclesiastique. Tire\u0301es de l&#8217;Ecriture, des Conciles, des Decretales des papes, des peres, et des plus ce\u0301lebres the\u0301ologiens et canonistes<\/em>. A three volumes set published in Paris in 1730 donated to the Library by Paul-Andre\u0301 Cre\u0301peau.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.library.mcgill.ca\/lawlibrary\/files\/2020\/03\/Dictionaries-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-1194\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.library.mcgill.ca\/lawlibrary\/files\/2020\/03\/Dictionaries-1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"262\" height=\"199\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A work dedicated to the French King and dealing with feudal Law in France is<em> the Dictionnaire des fiefs et des droits seigneuriaux utiles et honorifiques : contenant les de\u0301finitions des termes, &amp; un ample recueil des de\u0301cisions choisies, fonde\u0301es sur la jurisprudence des arre\u0302ts, la disposition des diffe\u0301rentes coutumes, &amp; la doctrine des meilleures feudistes<\/em> &#8230; by Joseph Renauldon, published in Paris, in 1788.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.library.mcgill.ca\/lawlibrary\/files\/2020\/03\/Echenberg-dictionary.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1205\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.library.mcgill.ca\/lawlibrary\/files\/2020\/03\/Echenberg-dictionary-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"257\" height=\"195\" \/><\/a>A recent donation to our Rare Books also presented in this exhibition is the <em>New law-dictionary: containing the interpretation and definition of words and terms used in law&#8230;<\/em> by Giles Jacob, published in London, in 1782.
