{"id":1309,"date":"2021-06-02T11:32:27","date_gmt":"2021-06-02T15:32:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.library.mcgill.ca\/lawlibrary\/?p=1309"},"modified":"2021-06-02T11:39:27","modified_gmt":"2021-06-02T15:39:27","slug":"sonia-smith-mita-bozic-erkic-receive-cllr-feature-article-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.library.mcgill.ca\/lawlibrary\/sonia-smith-mita-bozic-erkic-receive-cllr-feature-article-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Sonia Smith &#038; Mila Bozic Erkic Receive CLLR Feature Article Award"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The members of the Law Library would like to congratulate Sonia Smith, Liaison Librarian and Mila Bozic Erkic, Senior Circulation Clerk of the Nahum Gelber Law Library on winning the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.callacbd.ca\/Awards\">Canadian Law Library Review Feature Article Award<\/a> for their article <a href=\"https:\/\/canlii.ca\/t\/srb7\">&#8220;Does a Wellness Collection Have a Place at a Law Library?&#8221;<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CLLR award is presented annually by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.callacbd.ca\/\">The Canadian Association of Law Libraries \/ L&#8217;Association canadienne des biblioth\u00e8ques de droit (CALL\/ACBD)<\/a>, to the author of a feature length article published in <a href=\"https:\/\/mcgill.on.worldcat.org\/oclc\/60778922\">Canadian Law Library Review \/ Revue canadienne des biblioth\u00e8ques de droit<\/a> to recognize outstanding contributions to the association and the profession of Law Librarianship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sonia and Mila\u2019s forward thinking \u201cWellness Collection\u201d and subsequent article, have been a huge success with students. This project started in 2018 in response to several studies discussing the particularly high rate of stress and mental health issues among law students. The authors had no idea what a vital resource this would become during the widespread mental health crisis that students would face during the 2020\/2021 pandemic. While in person, students were able to relax by taking advantage of a \u201cde-stress corner\u201d where they could take a much needed break from rigorous academic pursuits. Over the past year students have benefited from the thoughtfully curated <a href=\"https:\/\/libraryguides.mcgill.ca\/wellness_law\">Wellness Resources for Law Students Libguide<\/a>.
