\n(McLennan Library Building main floor, lobby)<\/strong><\/h1>\nIn response to the theme of this year\u2019s SHARP\u00a0Conference<\/a> \u2013 \u201cHow do books, book cultures, or book\u00a0systems spread and readapt?\u201d \u2013 this exhibition can\u00a0only begin to suggest the multitude of questions that\u00a0these editions pose. Why were English language\u00a0books being printed in Vienna? Why was The Vicar of\u00a0Wakefield<\/em> so popular and what do the German English\u00a0editions say about language learning? What was the\u00a0attraction that Pope held for continental readers? Why\u00a0did English novels attract so many non-English\u00a0readers?
