They used a hand-held video microscope to measure blood flow.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2089 alignright\" style=\"color: #333333; font-style: italic; line-height: 24px; border-color: #bbbbbb; background-color: #eeeeee;\" title=\"BMJ\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.library.mcgill.ca\/schulich\/files\/2012\/12\/BMJ-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"164\" height=\"218\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.library.mcgill.ca\/schulich\/files\/2012\/12\/BMJ-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.library.mcgill.ca\/schulich\/files\/2012\/12\/BMJ-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/blogs.library.mcgill.ca\/schulich\/files\/2012\/12\/BMJ.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 164px) 100vw, 164px\" \/><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Conclusions<\/strong>\u00a0The nasal microcirculation of reindeer is richly vascularised, with a vascular density 25% higher\u00a0than that in humans.
