I use the colour option a lot to find images with a white or transparent background.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/creativecommons\/\">Flickr: Creative Commons<\/a> is another resource that I use often. Here you can find images that others are willing to share, so that you can use them and credit whoever they belong to, based on a <a href=\"http:\/\/creativecommons.org\/licenses\/\">Creative Commons license<\/a>\u00a0as an alternative to copyright.<\/p>\n<p>Most science magazines have image galleries online but I do love to browse NASA&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/multimedia\/imagegallery\/index.html\">image gallery<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/multimedia\/3d_resources\/index.html\">3D resources<\/a>. \u00a0They are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/audience\/formedia\/features\/MP_Photo_Guidelines.html\">generally not copyrighted<\/a> and can be used with acknowledgements.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, there is a gorgeous set of images from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The <a href=\"http:\/\/eros.usgs.gov\/imagegallery\/\">image gallery<\/a> of the Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center contains the Earth as Art photo seen here.
