National Geographic\u2019s Education Section created a <a href=\"http:\/\/education.nationalgeographic.com\/education\/collections\/geographyawarenessweek\/?ar_a=1\">website<\/a> to celebrate this event. The theme of this year is \u201chow geography enables us all to be intrepid explorers in our own way\u201d. \u00a0The resources created for the previous Geography Awareness Week events are <a href=\"http:\/\/education.nationalgeographic.com\/education\/topics\/geography-awareness-week-archive\/?ar_a=1&amp;audiences=1\">archived<\/a> online. \u00a0You may explore this rich educational collection by a search or use a combination of filters provided on the webpage.<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday, Nov.20 is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gisday.com\/\">GIS Day<\/a>. Worldwide GIS day events can be found at this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gisday.com\/gis-day-events-map.html\">map<\/a>.
