I wanted to bring your attention to some free resources, such as Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), that may help support your studies. I know, classes have just begun so the last thing that you are thinking about is enrolling in another course but there is some great material out there to help reinforce or expand your learning.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: normal; color: #565656;\">We have a\u00a0new guide to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mcgill.ca\/library\/find\/subjects\/science\/moocs-open-education-resources\">MOOCs and open education resources<\/a>\u00a0(OERs for short)\u00a0on our Schulich Library site. These include places where you can go to register for courses, but also options for viewing course materials, such as MIT&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/ocw.mit.edu\/index.htm\">OpenCourseWare<\/a>,\u00a0or for taking advantage of openly available textbooks in science and engineering.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: normal; color: #565656;\">I&#8217;m currently following (when I can) a Linux MOOC and waiting on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/class.stanford.edu\/courses\/Medicine\/Sci-Write\/Fall2014\/about\">Writing in the Sciences<\/a> from Stanford.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: normal; color: #565656;\">There is also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coursera.org\/course\/comics\">Comic Books and Graphic Novels<\/a> starting in a few weeks on Coursera, but that is neither here nor there&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome \/ welcome back!
