{"id":3911,"date":"2014-10-31T14:33:39","date_gmt":"2014-10-31T18:33:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.library.mcgill.ca\/schulich\/?p=3911"},"modified":"2014-10-31T14:33:39","modified_gmt":"2014-10-31T18:33:39","slug":"mcgill-researchers-make-another-highly-cited-list","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.library.mcgill.ca\/schulich\/mcgill-researchers-make-another-highly-cited-list\/","title":{"rendered":"McGill researchers make another highly cited list"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The first edition of the list of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.webometrics.info\/en\/node\/58\">382 Highly Cited Researchers (h&gt;100) according to Google Scholar Citations<\/a> includes two McGill scientists: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bic.mni.mcgill.ca\/PeopleFaculty\/EvansAlan\">Alan Evans<\/a> has an h-index of 152, putting him at #34 in the list, and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.physics.mcgill.ca\/~awarburt\/Warburton_McGill\/Andreas_Warburton.html\">Andreas Warburton<\/a> is #99 with an h-index of 128. Alan Evans is no stranger to citation fame, as he was also included in the 2014 <a href=\"http:\/\/highlycited.com\/\">Highly Cited Researchers<\/a>\u00a0list from Thomson Reuters, along with\u00a0Chemistry professor,\u00a0Chao-Jun Li\u00a0(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mcgill.ca\/channels\/news\/mcgill-profs-among-%E2%80%98most-influential-scientific-minds-237413\">read more on this from McGill News and Events<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The h-index marks the place where the number of citations a researcher receives meets the number of papers they have published (see the graph below).
