Last week, I was looking for a book in our Rare Books room and stumbled upon this creative example of use of an annual volume of the Statutes of Canada 1863. Apparently, this volume was used by some children as a scrap-book.

Any idea who the children might have been (or, perhaps instead, who owned the volume before McGill)?
Either way, it reminds me of this article: http://www.jstor.org/sici?sici=0042-0220%282003%2953%3A1%3C37%3AAMPLLA%3E2.0.CO%3B2-7&origin=openly;oclc;worldcat.org
Thank you for the interesting article.
About the provenance of the book, there is an accession number on the back paste-down, so if the library accession register for this period has been kept, the provenance could be traced.
